Joan Volkmuth
Joan Volkmuth served as president of St. Cloud Technical College from 1997-2006. As the college’s first female president, Volkmuth was instrumental in the expansion of healthcare programs at SCTC, adding programs in sonography, echocardiography, and invasive cardiology. Volkmuth took a non-traditional path to college presidency. Moving from a part-time secretarial position to various positions During Volkmuth’s tenure, charitable donations to the SCTC Foundation increase from $150,000 in 1997 to $7.4 million in 2006.
